The Nigeria Police Force's Special Fraud Unit (PSFU) Ikoyi, Lagos, has received a significant boost in its fight against financial crimes with the unveiling of an additional operational vehicle donated by one of the units esteemed stakeholder.

In a statement signed by the Unit's Public Relations Officer DSP Ovie Kenneth Ewhubare on Tuesady, Commissioner of Police CP Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo officially unveiled the vehicle at the Unit's headquarters Ikoyi, describing the donation as "a demonstration of the confidence reposed in the Police Special Fraud Unit and an admirable example of the positive impact of collaborative policing."

According to the CP, the gesture will enhance the Unit's investigative capacity, improve detective mobility, and facilitate intelligence-led operations across the country.

"This donation aligns with the strategic vision of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to strengthen policing through improved logistics, stakeholder collaboration, and enhanced service delivery," CP Okpoziakpo stated.

The Commissioner emphasized that combating fraud and other financial crimes requires collective effort and called on other well-meaning Nigerians, corporate organizations, and development partners to continue supporting the Police with resources and credible information needed to combat increasingly sophisticated financial crimes.

In his closing remarks, CP Okpoziakpo charged officers to make prudent and professional use of all available resources while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and discipline.

"No form of misconduct or abuse of operational assets would be tolerated," he warned.

The Police Special Fraud Unit reaffirmed its commitment to tackling fraud, money laundering, and other financial crimes through intelligence-led policing, while assuring the public of its dedication to protecting the nation's financial ecosystem through sustained stakeholder collaboration.
