A Rivers State man identified as Gospel Kinanee, who was declared missing in 2007 has been found 18 years after in the River state prison.

According to his family, as reported by Arise TV, Gospel was 14 years old when he left home one night in 2007 and never returned.

The family searched extensively for the teenager, including visits to police stations and other institutions, but were unable to locate him.

His brother revealed that the Nigerian Correctional Service facility where Gospel was eventually found had been visited twice during the family's search.

According to the family a Lawyer who recently visited the prison discovered a man that look like the missing 14year old Gospel, who is now 32 years old. He called Gospel brother who identified him.

Gospel who has now reunited with his family was among 21 inmates released from the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre during the Rivers State Jail Delivery Exercise led by Justice Simeon Amadi.

The family says he had no formal trial and no access to legal representation during his detention.

They also discovered that while they knew him as Gospel Kinanee, the correctional centre's records identified him as Baridi Sunday.

The family had filed a lawsuit against the Government for illegal detention and is currently demanding justice.
