***Assures military base request will be considered

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the immediate recruitment of 1,000 forest rangers to secure forest reserves across various locations in Oyo State.
The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, disclosed this while delivering President Bola Tinubu's message to the people of Ahoro Esiele in Oriire Local Government Area on Sunday.
According to a statement issued by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the recruitment will be carried out in collaboration with the Oyo State Government as part of immediate measures to strengthen security in the area.
"As part of immediate measures to strengthen security in the area, President Tinubu has approved the recruitment of 1,000 forest guards in Oyo State in collaboration with the state government."
The delegation also assured residents of Oriire local government area, Oyo state, that their request for the establishment of a military post in the community would be conveyed to President Tinubu for consideration and approval.
Community leaders and lawmakers were informed that the proposal for a military base in the area would be given due attention by the presidency.
Federal government said the move is a proactive step to address security concerns in forest reserves and surrounding communities in Oyo State followingthe abduction of 7 teachers and 39 pupils/students by terrorist in the state.
