The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force's unwavering commitment to creating a safe and secure environment where legitimate businesses and investments can flourish.
AIG Jimoh made the pledge during a courtesy visit by a delegation from IHS Nigeria, one of the country's leading telecommunications infrastructure companies, to the Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan on Wednesday, led by retired AIG Ahmed Iliyasu, who served as the 26th AIG of Zone 2 Headquarters between 2019 and 2021, in what officials described as a homecoming visit of sorts for the former police chief.
Describing IHS Nigeria as a vital stakeholder in national security, AIG Jimoh assured to deepen security collaboration with the telecom firm, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding lives and critical assets across Lagos and Ogun States.
He assured of the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to providing a safe and secure environment in which legitimate businesses and investments can thrive.
He further said that the Nigeria Police Force views IHS as a key stakeholder, and we will continue to strengthen partnership with them to prevent crime, protect critical infrastructure, and respond swiftly to emerging threats.
AIG Jimoh urged the telecommunications firm to maintain open lines of communication with the police and promptly report any suspicious activities or security concerns, noting that timely reporting and effective information sharing are essential to preventing crime and protecting critical assets.
Speaking earlier, AIG Iliyasu revealed that IHS Nigeria operates more than 16,000 telecommunication towers across the country, making security a top priority for the organisation. He emphasized that IHS places considerable emphasis on the safety and security of its personnel, infrastructure, and the wider community.
He noted that the corporate organizations remain committed to strengthening long-standing partnership with the Nigeria Police Force, particularly in the areas of security operations and information sharing.
AIG Jimoh reaffirmed his dedication to building purposeful partnerships with stakeholders across the zone, leveraging such collaborations to enhance security and public safety.
