The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department FCID Annex, Lagos, AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom, has reiterated the need for stronger collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the military to tackle emerging security threats.

Akpanudom made the call on Tuesday at the Nigerian Army School of Finance and Administration-NASFA Auditorium in Apapa, Lagos, during a one-day workshop organized by the Nigerian Army Women Command-NAWC, themed “Repositioning the NAWC for Enhanced Operational Efficiency in Curbing Contemporary Security Threats.”

The workshop brought together key security stakeholders and senior military officers to deliberate on strategies aimed at strengthening operational capacity against evolving challenges such as insurgency, banditry, and cybercrime.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the FCID Annex Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mayegun Aminat, the AIG commended the Army Women Command for the initiative, noting that synergy among security agencies is critical to national stability.

“Strengthening institutional capacity and fostering synergy among security agencies remain critical to effectively tackling contemporary security threats across the country,” Akpanudom stated

During the event, Brigadier General M.S. Adamu, the Commander of the Nigerian Army Women Command, presented a commemorative plaque to the AIG.

The gesture, according to the statement, was in recognition of the Nigeria Police Force’s continued collaboration and support in promoting national security and inter-agency cooperation.

The event further underscored the importance of sustained collaboration between the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force in line with the mission of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to safeguard lives and property while maintaining peace and stability across the nation.

Akpanudom reaffirmed that the FCID Annex, Alagbon, remains committed to continued partnerships aimed at enhancing national security and economic development.
