NAPTIP arrests 54-year-old man over alleged abuse of four boys in Abuja

The operatives of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) have arrested a 54-year-old man, identified as Mr. Bartholomew, for the alleged serial sexual abuse, coercion, and violent assault of four young men.

This was disclosed by NAPTIP on their official Facebook page on Monday.

NAPTIP said that the suspect was apprehended on May 15, 2026, at his residence in the Dei Dei area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

NAPTIP further revealed that his arrest followed an intensive investigation sparked by a formal petition submitted to the office of the NAPTIP Director-General.

According to the agency, the four male victims have been safely removed from the abusive environment.

"They are currently receiving comprehensive medical treatment, psychological evaluation, and counselling at a secure facility." The agency stated

NAPTIP confirmed that the suspect has been apprehended and remains in custody.

"The suspect remains in custody and will be formally arraigned in a court of competent jurisdiction as soon as preliminary judicial processes are concluded." The agency wrote

The agency further assured Nigerians of its continued dedication to protecting victims, preventing human trafficking and related abuses, and ensuring that perpetrators face the full weight of the law.
