Fire guts third floor of Polaris bank tower in Lagos Island

The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) has confirmed a fire outbreak on thursday, which affected a stationary saloon car parked on the third floor of the 17 story Polaris Bank Building on Broad Street, Lagos Island.

According to a statement released by LSFRS controller General Margaret Adeseye, the fire was swiftly brought under control.

"The incident occured on the 3rd floor of the 17-storey building located at 61/65 broad street, which serves as a parking facility for the financial institution. The fire was reported at approximately 11:33 a.m and involved a stationary saloon car parked on the floor.

"Firefighters from the Ebute Elefun and Sari Iganmu Fire Stations responded to the emergency and successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to other vehicles and sections of the building.

" The only damage recorded was to the affected vehicle and its immediate surroundings. No casualties or injuries were reported.

"The firefighting operation has been successfully concluded, and normalcy has been fully restored to the area. "
